Associate Director of Annual Giving

Summary: 

Incumbent is responsible for coordinating a variety of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities, and promotional materials for Biomedical Advancement with a focus on Annual Giving. Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of appeals, acknowledgements, promotional materials, special programs and volunteer solicitors in an effort to increase donors and dollars raised for the Brown Medical Annual Fund. In addition, help to build a pipeline of leadership/major/principal donors for the priorities of The Warren Alpert Medical School. All key job responsibilities should be completed in compliment with Medical School and University priorities and in coordination with medical alumni and parent relations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience – preferably in the area of medical annual giving or medical alumni relations and/or in a medical academic setting. Experience working in a healthcare setting is a plus.

  • Excellent communications (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

  • Word processing skills; proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Comfortable with various data management systems; computer savvy.

  • Ability to be sensitive and diplomatic working with a vast number of volunteers and donors.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external constituents of the Medical School and University.

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
