Associate Director of Advancement, Annual Giving

Campbell Hall seeks a full-time, resourceful, self-motivated and hands-on professional to serve as Associate Director of Advancement, Annual Giving. The Associate Director provides strategic direction, and long-range and short-range planning aimed at securing current-use unrestricted support, while supporting the greater development goals of Campbell Hall. This position reports to the Director of Advancement and works collaboratively with both the Advancement and Communications teams. The Associate Director also supervisors the Associate Annual Giving Manger.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising program with a primary focus on securing budget-relieving support from CH parents, alumni, grandparents, and other constituent groups.
  • Oversee creation of all Campbell Hall Annual Fund (CH Fund) marketing collateral including solicitation and acknowledgement letters, email appeals, and brochures.
  • Project-manage and work collaboratively with the Communications team to create video content, social media content, and other materials to support annual giving campaigns.
  • Use wealth screening data, giving history, staff intelligence, and other information to inform customized solicitation amounts for each constituent.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to the Associate Annual Giving Manger.
  • In partnership with the Associate Annual Giving Manager, recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to CH Fund volunteers.
  • Serve as a public-facing ambassador for the CH Fund within the Campbell Hall community.
  • Maintain a portfolio of 25-50 leadership annual giving donor prospects and assume responsibility for their cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Participate in team prospect management meetings.
  • Write grant proposals and post-award reports for funders of select budget-relieving initiatives.
  • Serve as project manager for the school’s annual Impact Report to donors.
  • Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reports, queries, and gift acknowledgment letters.
  • In conjunction with the Database Manager, ensure accurate reporting of gift/financial information to the Director of Advancement, CH Fund co-chairs and committee, and Board Advancement committee.
  • Work closely with the Database Manager to ensure all pledge reminders and pledge payments are current.
  • Develop and implement strategies to steward CH Fund donors giving at leadership levels
  • Along with the Director of Advancement and Associate Annual Giving manager, set the strategic direction and engage in long-and-short range planning of CH Fund and other annual giving programs.
  • Effectively plan and track the Annual Giving budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience with annual giving campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Supervisory experience is a plus factor
  • Able to multi-task and balance multiple priorities
  • Prior experience in a goal-oriented, non-profit fundraising environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team culture
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and support volunteers
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems, Raiser’sEdge experience is a plus factor
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office and Google Office suites preferred
  • Graphic design and video editing experience are plus factors
  • Appreciation for and understanding of Campbell Hall’s mission and values and an ability to communicate them to external constituencies
  • Previous project management experience
  • Able to exercise good judgment and handle confidential matters and information with discretion
  • Experience with budget management
  • Willing and able to work some weekends and evenings
