De La Salle Institute, a college-preparatory Catholic secondary school located on Chicago’s near South Side, is seeking an Event Manager to organize and oversee events that will make an impact on a targeted audience. Position reports to Director of Development. The Event Manager is responsible for cultivating strong relationships with alumni and friends, soliciting event sponsorships, managing alumni volunteers, planning and executing virtual and in-person events, and adhering to deadlines and event budgets to ensure successful and cost-effective event implementation. This full-time position offers support in the areas of annual giving, special events and donor cultivation. Annual salary range is $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits offered.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Three or more years of fundraising and event management experience; ability to manage multiple projects; and practiced participation in recruiting and managing small and large volunteer groups. Proficiency with personal computers and related software, especially MS Office and Raiser’s Edge; strong creative, oral and written communication skills are essential; good presentation skills; sense of humor and team spirit; professional demeanor and ability to commit to De La Salle’s mission. Social media experience preferred.
