The Class Programs and Reunion Campaigns (CPRC) team supports Georgetown by engaging alumni through class and reunion programs and increasing overall alumni giving. This team of 16 is responsible for establishing class fundraising goals, recruiting and developing volunteers, identifying high potential donors, helping solicit major gifts, hosting world-class signature events (Homecoming Weekend and Reunion Weekend), and engaging alumni and students in fundraising for Georgetown.

The Director manages class engagement and giving for five undergraduate alumni classes. This posiiton also oversees a team of four staff and leads the strategic development and implementation for significant projects (fundraising bench-marking, volunteer leader recruitment and training). Applicants should be leaders in the field of higher education philanthropy and engagement, possessing exemplary interpersonal skills, intellectual fortitude, and a strong track record of achieving and exceeding goals.

The Director, Class Programs and Reunion Campaigns will have duties that include, but are not limited to the following:

Strategic Design and Implementation of Reunion Campaigns

  • Serves as the lead member of the Class Programs Team with primary focus of Class Giving and Reunion Campaigns and assists with the development of reunion giving pyramids by class and reunion years for setting multi-year strategies.
  • Organizes and coordinates fundraising efforts for designated reunion classes by engaging and supporting the University’s leading volunteers and donors.
  • In concert with the Senior Director and working in partnership with other Office of Advancement departments and colleagues, develops strategic solicitation programs and ensures participation and dollar goals for each reunion class/constituency and class-based models for screening and rating alumni.
  • Provides ongoing, day-to-day tactical support for reunion gift chairs, including the production and management of prospect reports and other relevant information.
  • Identifies, recruits, trains, briefs, and motivates reunion gift committee members to expand the pool of volunteers and devises methods to increase their knowledge about the cultivation/solicitation process and their ability to raise sights.
  • Provides ongoing support for reunion gift committees, including management of the assignment process and regular pro-active contact with reunion gift committee members about progress with their assignments; monitors the quality of solicitations and ensures partnering of key volunteers with key prospects.
  • Facilitates ongoing communication between class-based volunteers involved in capital fundraising and development officers, coordinating volunteer involvement in cases for which staff has primary responsibility. 
  • Structures gift opportunities and collaborates with other fundraising colleagues, as needed, to maximize giving, promoting positive donor relations in person and via phone/mail.
  • Initiates and oversees all class-wide reunion gift mailings and explores creative communications techniques for print and web technologies to reach target markets.

Strategic Design and Implementation of Programs, Events, Communication, and Initiatives

  • Directs responsibility for developing and oversight of Reunion Campaign processes, standard procedures, timelines, and training for volunteers.
  • Develops measurements and metrics on the impact of volunteer solicitations.
  • Serves as point person for reporting, assessment, and ROI for reunion campaign efforts.
  • Develops key marketing and inclusion of themes throughout scripts, electronic, and print communications.
  • Establishes measurable outcomes for participation, new attendees, degree of impact surrounding attendance on giving, and other variables surrounding the events.

Class Ambassador Program Leadership

  • Oversees the Class Ambassador Program, which provides the best practices, procedures, and protocols for the entire CPRC team in terms of recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining class ambassadors.
  • Develops long-term roadmap for ambassador tools, programs, and overall development.
  • Works closely with colleagues to ensure a good base of volunteers and with class leaders to ensure volunteer development and leadership progression.
  • Determines ways to streamline class volunteer interaction and communication with our office and each other (recording outcomes of conversations, gambit entries/reporting, etc.).
  • Assists with greater development of ongoing communication, giving, and volunteer cycle.
  • Assists with the Class Advancement Committee of the Board of Governors.


  • Adheres to overall goal and budget guidelines.
  • Oversees and strategizes benchmarking, measurements, and reporting.
  • Manages and analyzes budgets for strategic use, transparency, and future programming.
  • Analyzes programs and makes recommendations for program refinement.
  • Nominates and promotes alumni for awards and recognition.
  • Attends Directors and one-on-one with AVP for CPRC.
  • Conducts staff meetings with the entire team to ensure cross-functional dialogue and information sharing and meeting with other AR Directors.


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in a development/fundraising environment
  • Desire to contribute to and participate in the mission of Georgetown University
  • A track record of high achievement and meeting or exceeding goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven experience developing deep, lasting relationships
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Professional and collegial demeanor and ability to exercise diplomacy
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Experience and comfort working with complex metrics and analysis
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
