Job Description

Goucher College seeks a dynamic Assistant Director of Annual and Affinity Giving to engage constituents of the college community to support the College’s financial annual fund goals. This position’s main responsibilities include: assisting the director with creating a data-driven, strategic annual giving calendar of communications and events and providing oversight of the leadership giving societies and management of the college’s affinity giving programs.

The Assistant Director will strategize and implement the relationship and program management of Goucher’s leadership giving societies: the Goucher Society (donors with annual gifts of $1,885 – $25,000) and Van Meter Club (Young Alumnae/i leadership giving). This position will manage a portfolio of current and prospective leadership donors via identification, cultivation and solicitation utilizing compelling donor visits, communications, and events to retain current members and obtain new members. Partnering with donor relations and stewardship to develop benefits to encourage increased memberships and move donors through the pipeline towards major giving. This position will collaborate with the communications department to create captivating solicitation pieces to inspire leadership level giving, plan and manage a leadership giving e-newsletter and other materials. The assistant director will also work with the alumnae/i engagement team to plan meaningful engagement events.

The Assistant Director will manage the fundraising strategies related to the college’s affinity giving groups and manage 6-12 month “crowdfunding” campaigns. This position reports to the Director of Annual & Affinity Giving. Some travel is required.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of fundraising experience, experience working with donors, an undergraduate degree, and demonstrated success in previous development roles.

Preferred candidates will have experience raising funds for higher education, major gift or annual giving level experience, and a personal and professional profile.
