Description:

Lausanne Collegiate School is seeking a Director of Parent Relations and Special Events who will be responsible for implementing and assessing strategies for parent, grandparent and parent of alumni involvement, reconnection, engagement, and philanthropic support. The Director will also be responsible for organization, coordination, and direction of all departmental special events and assist with the school’s multi-million-dollar Campaign for Lausanne. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position reporting directly to the Director of Development & Community Engagement.

Duties:

  • Serves as lead for development events and activities
  • Organizes, coordinates, and supports special events including the Auction, Golf Tournament, Carnival, Grandparents Day, as well as new parent, current parent, alumni and donor cultivation events
  • For all events
    • Prepares a schedule (Run of Show)
    • Develops and maintains a timeline and budget
    • Creates invitations, graphics and other marketing materials
  • Proactively designs and executes strategies for obtaining sponsorships and program ads for select events
  • Supports Lausanne Parent Connections (LPC), Lausanne’s parent association
    • Serves as staff liaison to the LPC board
    • Supports LPC events
    • Facilitates communication between the school and LPC
  • Coordinates Development Office volunteers
    • Distributes annual volunteers survey
    • With the assistance of the Director of Development, coordinates screening and recruitment of prospective volunteers
    • Coordinates and monitors use of volunteers in cooperation with LPC
    • Plans appropriate recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship of all volunteer service
    • Supports the Campaign for Lausanne
  • Coordinates campaign events
    • Assists in the scheduling of and preparation for campaign solicitations
    • Assists in managing campaign volunteers
    • Coordinates the execution of the Campaign Communication Plan

Qualifications:

  • Imbued with a deep sense of Lausanne’s mission and culture
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years of special event, fundraising and/or volunteer management experience
  • Excellent project management and follow-up skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
