General Job Summary: 

The Director of Annual Giving leads the creation and implementation of opportunities for donors to provide annual support for St. Norbert College. This is accomplished through a comprehensive fundraising program for unrestricted giving to the St. Norbert Fund and opportunities for restricted giving to initiatives on campus. This position supervises two staff members. The salary range is $70,000 – $77,000 based on experience.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate an annual work plan with specific objectives designed to promote annual giving and fulfill institutional fundraising goals; work collaboratively with the Office of Communications to successfully implement the work plan and adapt as needed. 40%
  • Supervise, evaluate and coach the assistant director of annual giving and annual giving phonathon coordinator to become effective at achieving established goals. 20%
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward a personal portfolio of leadership annual giving/major giving donors. Ask for gifts personally, sometimes as part of a team. Document results of all substantive contacts with prospective donors for records and review. 15%
  • Create and collaborate on projects and solicitations with College Advancement and college-wide staff to achieve overall annual goals. 15%
  • Partner with Information Services to create, distribute and evaluate statistical analysis of all St. Norbert Fund and other annual giving mailings, communications, solicitations and projects. 10%
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Required Qualifications:

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience and Credentials: 

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.
  • 5-7 years experience identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual and/or major gifts.
  • 1-2 years experience with event planning and coordination.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office/Google apps) and proficient with desktop and mobile devices.
  • Ability to align team objectives and priorities, secure commitment of others on the team to objectives to be achieved, and ensure appropriate linkages/partnerships are established and maintained.

  • Possess good interpersonal skills and be team oriented.

Working Conditions: 

Regular work hours are M – F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on campus. This position is expected to work on campus on a regular basis and is eligible to participate in a Hybrid Work and Flexible Schedules.  Approval of Flexible Work Arrangements are at the discretion of the department supervisor to ensure that  the needs of the department and college are met. Weekends or evenings are generally not required and the position is not expected to travel.
