Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years experience in Fund-Raising or a related field. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade EG.  Salary Minimum: $48,421

Position Description

The Assistant Director of Development for the College of Business will assist in the planning and execution of a comprehensive philanthropic program for the College of Business.   This position will work in coordination with the Executive Director for External Relations & Advancement for the College of Business, the Executive Director of Belknap Development, and the Dean of the College of Business.  In addition, the Assistant Director will work collaboratively with colleagues across University Advancement to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects for the College of Business. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and in compliance with Affirmative Action guidelines. A high level of personal and professional integrity is a must, along with the ability to communicate effectively and frequently with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual goals as defined each year in a personal assessment scorecard.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 100-150 major gift donors.
  • Solicit and secure gifts with a minimum annual goal of $350,000 or more.
  • Execute solicitations between $5,000 and $10,000 with a minimum annual goal of no less than $350,000 (or more – as determined by supervisor).
  • Complete a minimum of 160 (as determined by supervisor) face-to-face meetings annually with donors and prospective donors.
  • Record moves management activity within the Advancement database platform.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues through donor identification and donor referral.

Some evening and weekend work may be required.
