Assistant Director of Student Philanthropy

Under direction from the Director of Student Engagement and Philanthropy, the Assistant Director, Student Philanthropy will serve as an integral member of the Student and Young Alumni Engagement team, spearheading engagement and education initiatives that lead to a lifelong relationship with the university and increase giving participation of undergraduate students and alumni.

The Assistant Director, Student Philanthropy will be a key relationship-builder, identifying and creating opportunities to drive philanthropic support for causes around which current students and undergraduate alumni are most passionate. This role will focus on three critical areas: Senior Class Gift, Virginia Tech Giving Day, and student philanthropy initiatives serving as a resource to assist student organizations that focus on fundraising and are seeking to increase their impact on the Virginia Tech campus community.

This role will collaborate with the Office of Annual Giving and other strategic areas of University Advancement, as well as the Division of Student Affairs to establish clear strategies, develop action plans, and set goals and priorities, employing fresh outreach methods and tactics, as well as provide guidance on the approach to student-facing marketing efforts.
