Job Summary

The Office of Development at Auburn University seeks qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator, Development Programs (Annual Giving Affinity Coordinator). The individual in this position will represent Auburn University and will coordinate the affinity group fund-raising appeal project management. This individual will work closely with all Auburn constituencies to identify and gather content for targeted appeals including faculty and staff, parents, leadership annual giving potential donors, matching gift donors, Tiger Giving Day donors, program specific prospective donors, young alumni, and current students.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Affinity Group Appeal Coordination: analyze data for all targeted appeals and complex segmentation to increase retention and acquisition rates, work with units and Development Communications to draft, finalize, and proof all letters, email, and social media content and materials, track and monitor progress to make appropriate segmentation and appeal approach changes.
  • Faculty Staff Campaign Coordination: serve as lead coordinator of the faculty staff annual campaign, recruit faculty staff campaign volunteers and co-chairs, organize faculty staff campaign kick-off and close events, set up campaign monitoring dashboard, send timely motivational communications to volunteers, administer donor pin distribution, and draft all campaign correspondence.

Education Level: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Minimum Skills and Abilities

Candidates must possess the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to deal with routine administrative matters; the ability to deal creatively, confidently, and professionally with a wide variety of individual donors; and to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple projects.

Desired Qualifications

Candidates with previous experience in annual giving and/or developing and implementing campaigns including direct mail, social media and email marketing are highly preferred. Other desired skills are excellent verbal/ written communications skills; excellent proof-reading skills; accuracy; attention to detail and customer service-oriented skills; ability to work collaboratively and a team player; proven project management, time management, and organizational skills; outstanding customer service skills; ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with both external and internal constituents; ability to incorporate both quantitative and qualitative information and metrics into decision making; and advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Adobe, and e-mail software.

Salary Range: $28,000-$58,400
