Loyola Marymount University seeks an Associate Director of Annual Giving to support the mission of Loyola Marymount University by working to develop and implement direct marketing and fundraising strategies that sustain and grow the philanthropic base of support for the University. The Associate Director understands the continued and critical importance of growing alumni participation. The position oversees direct marketing and solicitations deployed through direct mail, email, phone, websites, social media, e- philanthropy, peer-to-peer, volunteer tools, and other mass communications tools as needed, with the expressed goal of prompting and facilitating charitable giving, as well as increasing awareness and engagement among LMU’s various stakeholder constituencies.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director will: 1) Oversee and lead the execution of comprehensive direct marketing and solicitation plans that integrates strategic data segmentation, timely and effective messaging, and deployment across multiple media platform, 2) Oversee, plan and implement multiple direct mail appeals annually, with a high degree of customization and emotional appeal, 3) Responsible for the general oversight of the phone-a-thon program and managing the Annual Giving associate in charge of the program, 4) Manage and analyze donor data for accuracy and integrity, 5) respond to inquiries from donors, constituents, colleagues, parents and friends about giving opportunities to LMU.

Qualifications and Application

To serve as Associate Director for Annual Giving, typically a Bachelor’s degree is required, with a minimum of 5 years nonprofit fundraising and/or direct marketing experience, in progressively responsible positions, preferably in a higher education setting. The Associate Director should have experience deploying creative content through online, audio/visual tools, print production, email marketing tools and using large data sets to inform marketing and fundraising strategy. Candidate should possess exemplary written, verbal, project management, and organization skills. Familiarity with current industry-standard design and production software, including Adobe Creative Suite or other publishing systems, email-marketing tools, website content management systems, is highly desirable.
