Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking a full-time Planned Giving Officer responsible for the coordinating the overall planned giving program including marketing, program development and stewardship designed to grow planned giving support for Nebraska Wesleyan University. This position is also responsible for managing a full donor portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and implements programs designed to inform all university constituents about the advantages of estate and planned gifts, including development of marketing strategies, marketing materials and direct mail.
  • Maintains strategies and tracking system, including expectancy database, files, records, and call reports for each planned giving donor and donor prospe
  • Identifies, cultivates and solicits planned giving donor prospects; conducts a full schedule of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship visi
  • Collaborates with advancement colleagues about appropriate stewardship of their assigned planned giving dono Assures appropriate acknowledgement and stewardship for all assigned planned giving donors.
  • Provides information on planned giving appropriate to the situations of individual donor prospects and prepares individualized solicitation materials and technical information.
  • Establishes annual plans, priorities, and objectives for planned giving program.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of tax issues related to planned giving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must have three to five years of development experience and experience in estate and planned gift techniques and related tax law One year is required to gain full job familiarity.
  • Must have knowledge regarding the instruments of planned giving, philanthropic tax laws, and the technicalities of estate and planned gif
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skill
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet schedule deadlines
  • Familiarity with Nebraska Wesleyan University
  • Must be able to operate a computer, a calculator, a telephone, and an automobile.
  • Adaptable, flexible and eager to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve department goals
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders within the campus community
  • Must be computer proficient, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Must have high initiative, confidence, integrity, strong work ethic
