The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an Annual Giving Manager for UAB Advancement’s Phonathon operation. This position is responsible for promoting the importance of philanthropy at UAB through telephone fundraising/management and will work as an integral Advancement team member to facilitate successful fundraising programs.

Under the supervision of the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Manager – Phonathon is responsible for the facilitation of a successful telephone fundraising program by helping to create the calling strategy, identifying key donor pockets, building phone campaigns, coordinating the fulfillment of phonathon pledges, managing a team of student callers, and maintaining relationships with campus representatives.

This position will report to the Director of Annual Giving. UAB Advancement welcomes candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years working in a phonathon office environment, preferably in a non-profit organization. Experience does not substitute for education.
  • This position requires the person to work onsite.
  • The required hours of this position are 12:30-9:30pm Monday-Thursday and 11:30-8:30pm on Sundays.  Potential to directly supervise up to 30 students.

Annual Salary Range: $47,665 to $50,000
