Annual Gifts Officer I & II

This position cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects for gifts less than $25,000. The incumbent participates in one or two fundraising segments, maintains a portfolio of annual gift donors and assists the annual giving team with establishing and coordinating giving societies within schools.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Works with prospect researchers to identify portfolio for annual gift donors.
  • Plans face-to-face visits, proposals, and asks, to solicit annual gifts.
  • Ensures majors gift officers are kept abreast of efforts to contact/ask/steward prospects within their assigned schools, areas of focus, or when a donor moves into a major gift range.
  • Coordinates activities to design and distribute solicitations.
  • Participates in execution of scheduled mailers and special events.
  • Assists in development of donor retention strategies and fund raising goals.
  • Monitors aspects of funding channel activities, including participation rates of prospects and donors, donor movement through giving levels and donor retention.
  • Coordinates and participates in funding channel activities such as phoneathons, crowdfunding, and direct or email solicitations in order to solicit annual gifts and build the donor pipeline.
  • Works closely with the annual giving team to establish and coordinate giving societies.
  • Tracks donor acquisitions, renewals, and manages memberships as assigned.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Education/Experience

Officer I:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
  • Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the essential functions of this position.
  • Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.

Officer II:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
  • Experience: Two (2) year of experience related to the essential functions of this position.
  • Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
