Annual Gifts Officer I & II

University, MSThis position cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects for gifts less than $25,000. The incumbent participates in one or two fundraising segments, maintains a portfolio of annual gift donors and assists the annual giving team with establishing and coordinating giving societies within schools.
Examples of Work Performed
- Works with prospect researchers to identify portfolio for annual gift donors.
- Plans face-to-face visits, proposals, and asks, to solicit annual gifts.
- Ensures majors gift officers are kept abreast of efforts to contact/ask/steward prospects within their assigned schools, areas of focus, or when a donor moves into a major gift range.
- Coordinates activities to design and distribute solicitations.
- Participates in execution of scheduled mailers and special events.
- Assists in development of donor retention strategies and fund raising goals.
- Monitors aspects of funding channel activities, including participation rates of prospects and donors, donor movement through giving levels and donor retention.
- Coordinates and participates in funding channel activities such as phoneathons, crowdfunding, and direct or email solicitations in order to solicit annual gifts and build the donor pipeline.
- Works closely with the annual giving team to establish and coordinate giving societies.
- Tracks donor acquisitions, renewals, and manages memberships as assigned.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Education/Experience
Officer I:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
- Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the essential functions of this position.
- Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
Officer II:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) year of experience related to the essential functions of this position.
- Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
