Job Description

The Associate Director of Digital Marketing position will be critical to developing and cultivating engaging and actionable digital marketing strategies. This position will develop and implement digital marketing plans under the direction of the Director of Integrated and Digital Marketing to support Advancement and Presidential Priorities, inclusive of digital advertising, SEO (search engine optimization), Google Analytics, mobile communities, email, marketing automation, and SMS (short message service).

The Associate Director partners with Annual Giving, Donor Relations, and University Relations to support digital fundraising campaigns such as Crowdfunding, Giving Day, and Giving Tuesday. Accountable for leading Search Engine Optimization in close collaboration with Director of Web Communications, Creative Director, Director of Business App Integration Services, and external vendors.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in interpreting data to inform overall marketing, developing segmentation strategy, and measurement plans to support a culture of continual improvement. This position requires an individual who is highly organized, detail oriented and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal skills. To be successful the candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work with respect, cooperation, civility and teamwork.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated progressive experience in digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing digital marketing plans, measuring their success and continual process improvement.
  • Experience with developing and executing targeted digital advertising strategies.
  • Experience managing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of using Google Analytics to measure digital marketing performance and translating results into actionable insight.
  • Experience developing highly segmented email campaigns.
  • Well-developed communication skills for presenting, writing, and collaborating.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize among competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated self-directed initiative with a focus on achieving goals and results.
  • Skilled at developing innovative solutions and ability to communicate the benefits of adopting those solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field of marketing.
  • Experience with developing and configuring targeted digital advertising strategies in-house and with a media agency.
  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics and Tag Manager.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccination or receive approval from the university for a vaccination exemption due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
